But... both of her parents were gone. And she had to... kind of settle for Kala.

Ah! And right after Todd's death the family holiday came up.
Little Isla, a true born Goldsmith, was too young to care yet. Only ghosts and graveyards seemed interesting enough.
And Kala was a very introverted sim so she was just a bit thankful on that holiday and not much into anything else.

Maia wasn't too happy about spending the day and sharing the holiday spirit with Kala and Isla. First she kicked Kala out of the Goldsmith Elite club.
And then Kala and Isla moved out, to another house in Sulani.

Maia decided to spend the holiday with a girl she had met online.
Leinani Tilo.
Ooh, uncle Malachi approved too.

Also, since the house in Sulani reminded Maia of all terrible things, she decided to move away.
A fancy house, just like the one she dreamed of, in Del Sol Valley. Yeah she could afford it since after all the deaths, the family had around 111K simoleons and when moving and selling things 180K simoleons.
But she was in the house all alone. Sad.
And still angry, scribbling out her feelings furiously.
Later that day she took another trip down to the graveyard.
Mum Kylli came out and gave Maia a comforting hug. Out of all the sims, she was the least expected. It was nice and kind of gave Maia assurance that everything was gonna be fine.
And with that Good Old Days was a success!

New place, new bills.
First week of spring, well really, just the first day, was 10 535. Wow!
That's a lot of money! Maia had to get a job.
An odd job.
Um, not the most money but it's a start.

To help her pay bills, she also asked her friend Leinani to move in.
Ah, much better! Maia had a little makeover herself.

About Leinani. She was a young adult. She was family oriented, a caregiver and affectionate towards animals which fit well with her friend of animals aspiration. But she was also a greedy snob and paranoid.
She had been a retail employee but she went started doing some criminal activity instead.  Maybe there's more money there!?
